Last August, Susan Grant, chief nurse executive for Emory Healthcare, said this of Emory’s choice to take care of patients with Ebola: “we could either let our actions be guided by misunderstandings, fear and self-interest, or we could lead by knowledge, science and compassion. We can fear, or we could care.” Consider her notion of doing what is into the public interest despite potential cost. When you look at the spirit of Emory’s tradition of courageous inquiry, what question do you want to help answer and why?

Even though she’s only applying to four schools, Eva has a great deal to do: two essays for UW, two when it comes to UC application, and another for the App that is common the supplements for Reed and Emory.
